April 2007
Update - 30/04/07
Charlotte's first word - I was offering her a Banana last night after dinner and she said her first very clear word - "Nana". I thought it might have been an one off but I was later speaking to Mum on the phone and said "tell nanny what you had for dinner, and she said "Nana". So it is officially noted - we have made our first word.....yeahhhhhh.
Albert Park Beach Playgroud
My little girl is now 15 months old, where is time going. She is more beautiful and enjoyable every day - I could eat her up. She is really good at feeding herself now and is fiercely independant. She loves her baby pram and will spend hours pushing it up and down the house and off course she is really good on her little bike. Her hair is much longer now and almost ready for her first pony tail or pig tails. Her words are getting much clearer and she is beginning to be able to communicate much better now. You can ask her if she wants something and she will either say 'No' or 'Yes' and if she hurts herself she can tell you where it hurts and we are able to kiss it better.
So much happening, I have been a bit slack with the updates......sorry

April - well Charlotte now runs everywhere, full steam ahead, it is exhausting. She goes and goes, then crashes (which is good for us.)

Peekaboo in the Park
This month sees her start childcare one day per week. I have started doing 3 days per week in the office and 1 from home, so on a Monday (16/04/07) Charlotte goes to Farran Street Childcare. I have taken her for a number of visits leading up to the first day to get her used to the people and surroundings, but I must admit I was pretty nervous about the first day. Well I should not have worried.
"me dirty?"
Happy after childcare
As soon as we got there she run off to play.....I said 'good bye' and left a list of instructions with the carers. I rang in about 10am to see how things where going and they said she was fine with no tears and was playing happily. I got there early to pick her up and she didn't want to leave. They were having afternoon tea and she decided that she wanted to finish before we went home, so I made myself comfortable on a little chair (well as comfortable as can be on a child that only takes one bum cheek at a time) and we had afternoon tea. When I finally got her to leave I realised how dirty she was......there was sand and dirt everywhere, most of which ended up on our floors when we took her shoes off. So now I am not so worried about next week, fingers crossed it is like this every week.
My New jumper
We have also been for a visit to Melbourne for a day and I managed to catch with my friend Sara and her daughter Millie.....however I forgot to take some photos.
Park Life.....
I did manage however to have coffee in St Kilda with Charlotte and we also took a tram ride (past our old house) and spend some time in a park on the beach at Albert Park. We had a great time exploring our old neighborhood, and it made me a bit home sick for Melbourne. Hopefully next trip we will get more time to visit other friends......

Unfortunately Mum is back in hospital again so the last week as been a little unorganised. It is hard to get everything down so we have had a bit of a mixed up week, but we are doing OK. Mum is also doing much better now and hopefully will be out of hospital (and staying with us) in an other week or so. Through all of this Charlotte has been great and has entertained the hospital staff and definitely cheered up her Nanny. The nurses keep making her glove balloons which really entertain her.
This is my favourite age.....I love spending time with her but just wished I had more...time is moving so quickly and I don't want to miss a thing. My baby is now more, but my little girl is adorable.
